Just as the cat was about to make its move, the bird must have sensed danger because it suddenly took flight, spreading its wings and soaring into the sky. The cat let out a frustrated meow and stretched its claws against the windowsill.

Defeated, the cat settled back down, its eyes still fixed on the retreating bird. It knew it wouldn't catch the bird today, but there was always tomorrow. For now, it was enough to watch the rain and dream of the day when it would finally catch its elusive prey.
